Microsoft’s größte Neuerung auf der E3 Messe – abgesehen von neuen Games – war die Vorstellung von Xbox SmartGlass, einem App für verschiedenste Endgeräte, unter anderem iOS und Android, um Xbox Inhalte auf einem zweiten, ergänzenden (Mini-)Bildschirm anzuzeigen. Ähnliches nennt Sony CrossPlay und CrossScreen, wobei es dort nur auf Sony eigenen Endgeräten läuft und Microsoft auf mehreren Fremdhersteller-Geräten und vor allem auch Mobilfunk-Plattformen lauffähig sein soll.

Xbox SmartGlass helps you easily discover more things to do by showing new activities related to what you’re already watching or playing on TV. And now play Xbox 360 games in a new way when you add a phone or tablet as a screen just for you. Xbox SmartGlass will be available on Windows 8-based PCs and devices, iPhone, iPad and Android phones.
